Hank Snow would have been 101 today. His beautiful creaky voice and wonderful melodious guitar can still be heard around the world. I used to think I was the only Hank Snow fan. (Only the number of records sold spoke against it). Lately I've met some people who share my enthusiasm. I would like to share my views with anyone who would care to write.

Today is the 60th anniversary of Elvis performing at Jesuit High School of New Orleans. On an entertainment online site, John DiTirro writes today, "In 1955, Elvis Presley played two shows (7:30pm and 9:30pm) at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Hank Snow was also on the bill." This is the first I am hearing that Hank Snow was on the bill. I have interviewed a lady who was on the bill as a 14-year old singer, Martha Raye. She mentioned nothing of Hank Snow being on the bill. Can you support the claim that Hank Snow, in fact, was on the bill with Elvis. Thank you.

Born in Phoenix, Ariz in "47, I was 5 years old standing in front of a judge, asking me which of my parents I wanted to live with. During the bitter divorce proceedings, my mother was singing and playing guitar with Marty Robbins in the local honky tonks, during which time he invited her to go "on the road" and perform. She declined his offer, to stay behind and fight for custody of her 2 boys. After she got custody of my younger brother and I, I remember her singing and playing guitar to Hank Williams and Hank Snow, and I would sing along. Shortly thereafter, I remember the 3 of us taking a Greyhound bus back to NYC. When we got off at the Port Authority Building I was wearing a cowboy outfit: Levis, shirt, hat, chaps AND 2 six guns.I WAS THEN READY FOR "the BIG APPLE". Still have a very warm and sentimental feeling for Hank's music and how it helped my mother and I cope with those troubling times. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES,Hank, love ya. Stevie,as my mother used to call me.
