The Hank Snow Museum is a non-profit organization that is run by volunteers. With our summer students back in school, our volunteers will only be available for appointments for tours or by chance if one of our volunteers is in the museum working. Call 902-354-8235 and Vina will see if there is anyone available to take you through the museum. Please call ahead if possible.
If we are at the museum (like every Wednesday at noon during September – weather permitting for the BBQs & Shows), we will take you through on a tour if someone is available that day. Usually we have someone who can do that on Wednesday unless everyone is busy at the BBQ but that is usually a good day to find someone to do the tour.
We had in the past been open all year but with COVID we were forced to let our paid administrator go and we work with all volunteers now as we have not come back financially as we were pre covid.
Our journey back to what we had before covid has been fraught with obstacles and we have been forced to continue to open with volunteers except for the time we were given grants for summer students.
We thank the Young Canada Works Program and the Canada Summer Jobs Program who sponsored two students this summer which gave us the opportunity to open seven days a week for June, July & August. Our summer festival provided the funds for a third student this summer.
Thank you to everyone who has helped out to keep the museum open and we hope someday to return to being able to open full time year round. We will keep folks informed here on our web site.
