When I was 8 years old in 1964 my dad took me to see Hank at the London Palladium. I had listened to Hank's records probably all my life up to that point and knew all the words to most of his songs. I didnt realise being only 8 what a great performer I was watching at the time, I got slightly embarassed as after every song my dad cheered and clapped louder than any other person in the building. Now 43 years later I can still recall most of the words to the songs I liked the best.
