I believe it was 1949 when I first heard Hank (The Singing Ranger) and I was thrilled with the power and resonance of his voice, together with his wonderful songs and great backing - a perfect ensemble. I still have 16 of his songs on original 78rpm recordings as well as 3 CDs and 1 LP, and I treasure them all. I am 74 years old and have never lost my enthusiasm for Hank. He has always been popular out here. I worked on a cattle station (ranch) in the Australian Outback for a few years in the 1950s, and one day I tuned-in to Radio Colombo (Sri Lanka) and heard Hank being played on their "Hillbilly Half-hour". A world-wide star.
