Guestbook
I saw Hank Snow once while I was a long-haired teenager in the early seventies quite by accident. I had tickets for a Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton show and they canceled and substituted Hank Snow as the headliner. I didn't know any of Hank's work and wasn't really looking forward to it but the tickets were nonrefundable so my girlfriend and I went. Suffice it to say, he and his band just blew me away with this clean Canadian country/folk music and songs that just cut to the chase. This was a master at work at the peak of his powers.
We got to meet him after the show and he signed the back of a scrap of paper I had in my wallet. I wonder what he thought of this long haired kid thanking him for the show and the autograph. That was the one and only time I got to see him, but he sure won me over that night. I'm glad I got to see him that one time. I'll always consider it a musical turning point in life. Thank you, Mr. Snow.
