Hank Snow Plays Guitar: The Instrumental Side of Hank
$25.00
Whilst it is clear that as a guitarist Hank Snow was not in the same league as, say, Chet Atkins, Grady Martin, Hank Garland, Joe Maphis or Jimmy Bryant, he was well-respected for his art. Certainly his record label, RCA, would never have allowed him to play on all his sessions had he been less than thoroughly competent – studio time was money and woe betide record producers if they allowed their artists to waste it. Even more proof-positive of his skills is the fact that over the years RCA issued a number of guitar instrumental albums by Hank Snow, starting in 1957 with “Country Guitar”, and that master musician Chet Atkins bestowed the honour of recording a guitar album with him in 1964, “Reminiscing”, and again in 1969, “By Special Request”.Whether you listen to this collection as a guitarist or as a Hank Snow / Country music fan, you won’t be disappointed.
